How committed are we? What is the responsibility of each individual in society? What responsibility do those who represent us have? Should they be exemplary or heroes? We make an ellipsis between what happened during the attempt of coup in 1981 with the current political and economic situation.
¡QUIETO TODO EL MUNDO! (Everyone quiet!), and the country was frozen with fear. It seems that democracy in Spain partly triumphed due to immobility. We find parallels with a society that is paralyzed before the blows to social rights and a country that remains pending. As Naomi Klein expresses in her book The Shock Doctrine, the economic crisis and a coup led by neoliberal markets seem once again to leave us in shock, not knowing how to react and with fear of losing our small individual pieces of privilege, unable to see the big picture and the status of States.
